Increase intake of dark/green/crunchy vegetables. Aim for at least one large serving a day (NOT including lettuce, cucumber, tomato, potato or corn). Strategies can include:
- Take 1-2 hours a week to prepare 2-3 vegetable dishes to have for the week (store/freeze);
- Have some nutritious sauces/dips handy for steamed vegetables
- Have a few quick and easy to make recipes for vegetables
- Always keep the following vegetables handy They keep well and are used for many dishes: carrots, celery, onions; well as garlic and lemons (no onions and garlic if SIBO)
- Drink half your body weight in clear fluids (if you weight 200lbs, drink 100oz) (sparkling water and herbal, green teas are OK, so are miso soup and broth)
