I have a strong commitment to my patients and to the community; which is why I usually develop meaningful relationships with my patients.
As a naturopathic doctor, I see patients with multiple symptoms; these are often related, forming a pattern. It is by evaluating those patterns that naturopaths find the cause of the disturbances, because in the end, your body is trying to heal or protect itself. At the clinic we tend to focus on behavioral health disturbances. We find there is often a number of organic contributing factors. By addressing those (often a combination of metabolic predispositions, chronic exposures or infections and immune dysregulation) we decrease the intensity of symptoms and need for medication. We like to work with behavioral health providers (counselors, psychiatrists, psychologists), seeking to create a good wrap-around team of care around the patient. The team may include physical therapists, occupational therapists, acupuncturists, dietitians or other professionals, such as gastroenterologists, gynecologists, neurologists or immunologists. My role is to support you in your efforts, ordering lab work as needed, providing information and resources. Together we'll develop your treatment or health plan. We will then regularly adjust the plan as your health evolves from treating immediate concerns to optimizing wellbeing and transitions through life. Professional medical background I provided care in a number of settings. My first few years I worked at a pain clinic, then at a high-volume integrative clinic dedicated to low-income and uninsured populations. Those clinics had a focus on diabetes and cardiovascular health management, acute infections, musculoskeletal complaints, allergies and women's health. Additional specialized training and mentorships have focused on EDS, mold & mycotoxins, MCAS, the Walsh Method and other biochemical imbalances, chronic infections and neuroinflammatory conditions. At NW Naturopathic Medicine Clinic we tend to focus on behavioral health with an interdisciplinary team that includes nutrition counseling, craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, lab testing, IV treatments, LENS neurofeedback and the Buteyko Breathing Method. Call today for an introductory appointment. Personal background I grew-up in Caracas, where I earned a Baccalaureate in natural sciences through the French educational system. I completed my education in the US and embarked on a successful international career. My passion for natural healing and community involvement led me back "home" to join the Community Doula Program in Houston, Texas. By implementing a natural approach to perinatal health we were able to reverse practically all cases of gestational diabetes and toxemia. The results were so impressive that the program was requested by several schools, public agencies and two HMOs, leading to a strategic merger. During that time I had the privilege and fun of serving on a number of technical advisory committees and healthcare coalitions with wonderful community partners. I then decided to pursue further studies in medicine, graduating from the National University of Natural Medicine. |

I have been seeing Dr. Paravicini for several years. She spent two hours with me at our first visit really understanding my history, family history, mental health, etc. Since I have been seeing her I have been able to make positive changes in my health. I adore Dr. P and I drive from Happy Valley to see her and will continue. Jennifer H - Feb 28, 2020 I have been a patient of Dr. Paravicini's for a few years now and I could not recommend her enough. After seeing multiple specialists who struggled to find the cause of many debilitating symptoms I'd been experiencing, she was the first to make the connections and help uncover some of the root causes to what I'd been experiencing. I still see her on a regular basis and could not recommend her enough to anyone looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable doctor who has her patient's best interest at heart. She truly wants to see her patients healed & well and that is something I am very, very thankful for. Alex D. Tualatin, OR – Nov 08, 2017 Dr. Paravicini is extremely thorough and thoughtful, and has a completely holistic approach to healing. In her assessment she takes into account the historical, emotional, genetic, physiological and lifestyle components that make us who we are and that affect our health, to create a completely personalized treatment plan. She narrowed down the lab tests necessary to diagnose ailments that have bothered me for years that other providers didn't detect. I feel so fortunate to have found her. Karen in Beaverton, OR – Oct 14, 2017 I started seeing Dr. Paravicini about a year ago. I have had great success for a digestion issue called SIBO. I have had a great treatment plan and my symptoms are gone. I liked the fact that the office worked with my insurance and my gastroenterologist. I also liked that I only take supplements and medication as needed for specific issues (no guess work). Dr. Paravicini takes the time needed to answer my questions and creates a comprehensive plan to follow for each visit. I highly recommend! Perry J in Portland, OR – Apr 20, 2017 |
